A girl with a blue earring

As always, that day I was in hurry to my college. I was walking on the way; my eyes got stopped in a earring which was lying in the middle of the road. Quickly I picked it up. I thought whether anybody was watching me or not only after picking it up. I relaxed nobody was watching because it was an early morning. I moved forward. I dropped it in my right hand pocket of my jacket. I was walking and my hand was inside my pocket which was holding that earring.

I was thinking who might have dropped it may be the girl of my same age because I see many girls of my age wearing such type of earring. I remembered a movie which I watched recently by that earring. The movie's title was' A girl with a pearl earring' and the actress was Scarlett Johansson. Only one earring was used in that movie.

I reached my college. I was holding it inside my pocket. Although I was very curious to see I didn't see it. The class was running and my hand was still holding that earring. As soon as the class was over I showed to my friends but they reacted passively may be they didn't hear me. I kept it in the same pocket. All the classes were over so I returned back home.

I watched it carefully. The earring was a circle earring of metal. A bell was there in the middle of the circle. The forward and backward of bell was decorated by some kind of steel golden flowers and plastic blue beads. There were seven different blue beads hanging in the bell. There were also five different blue beads hanging in those seven blue beads. I thought two beads were lost out of seven beads.

I showed to my mother. She said it is very beautiful and will be more beautiful if it is made out of gold. I showed to my sister and she too said it was beautiful and remembered her own earring which she took out from her jewellery box and put it herself and in the mean time I was writing the story of ' A girl with a blue earring' wearing that blue earring.

The Electricity Muddle

As you know the electricity problem of Nepal rises in every winter, this time also it is continuing without any improvements. The schedule of the electricity cut off also not working. With the power cut off for 6 hours daily there is huge loss to all sectors from business persons to the SLC appearing students. Though there are some advantages too. The candle business has grown up tremendously making a huge profits to the candle business men.

Yesterday I got a call from my office at 10 am, "Electricity is on, so come to office soon." I was thinking that power would go but didn't. Today I thought it will be on today coz yesterday it was. I was hurriedly rushed to office. When I reached office I was surprised to see the electricity is gone. The psycho power and the government schedule has made a lot of problem to all the citizen of Nepal. Many people was frustrated with this kind of behaviour. One of my friend who thought he will do good job in Kathmandu rather in India and came to Kathmandu for doing his job. He was saying it was a very big wrong idea to come here.

This is the situation of every people who is working hard. Never know when the situation of the country will be good. If this kind of situation continues then there will be no one wise people left in Nepal.

Turmoil, anarchy and mayhem
caused the nation into havoc
the future is unknown
when will end this shock?

Battle for the power
motherland is in despair
Lord! Save us!
Just we need care.

Dark are the days
and harder the nights
lots of loss and failures
due to the small baby fights.

What Do We Work For?

Son: "Daddy, may I ask you a question"
Daddy: "Yeah sure, what it is?"
Son: "Dad, how much do you make an hour"
Daddy: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?"
Son: "I just want to know. Please tel! l me, how much do you make an hour?"
Daddy: "I make Rs. 500 an hour"
"Oh", the little boy replied, with his head down. Looking up, he
said, "Dad, may I please borrow Rs. 300?"
The father was furious, "if the only reason you asked that is so you
can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or other nonsense, then
march yourself to your room and go to bed.

Think why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such
this childish behavior".The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions.How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?After about an hour or so, the man had calmed, down, and started to think:

"May be there was something he really needed to buy with thatRs. 300 and he really didn't ask for money very often!"

The man went to the door of little boy's room and opened the door.
"Are you a! sleep, son?" He asked.
"No daddy, I'm awake," replied the boy.
"I've been thinking, may be I was too hard on you earlier", said the man, "It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you.Here's the Rs.300 you asked for"

The little boy sat straight up, smiling "oh thank you dad!" He yelled.Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled some crippled up notes.The man, seeing that the boy already had money,started to get angry again.The little boy slowly counted out his money, then looked up at his father.
"Why do you want money if you already had some?" the father
grumbled.
"Because I didn't have enough, but now I do," the little boy
replied.
"Daddy I have Rs. 500 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?
Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with
you".

MORAL OF THE STORY

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our family.

My Birthday Mess Surprise

14 th of this month I woke up as usual and went downstairs. I drank a glass of water and sat on the chair when I got the overwhelmed and unexpected surprise. My two younger sisters had planned something else to wish me my birthday. They wished me with cheerful smile and handed me a small gift. That was my really surprise moment because I have never thought of it. Though I was aware that soon my birthday was coming but couldn't guess that it was that day. For the first time, I forgot my birthday. It is really hard for me coz I was surprised myself. I am wondering how could I forget my birthday? Is that the sign of something else? Was it the sign of some forgetfulness type of thing? I know that can't happen to me but I think that is much of co-incidence. I at once checked my digital diary for the evidence. It was cent percent right.

I made up my mind to celebrate it in my own way. I planned to buy some sweets and distribute to my colleagues. I bought some wired kind of sweet which I haven't know before and took it to office. When I got to office and greeted my friends, Laxman Ji pointed to have a piece of cake. I was surprised that what is that for. Though he tried to hide I hardly guess it was just like that. I haven't revealed till then that it was my birthday. I took out the sweet and showed to them and said it was my birthday. He was surprised to know and asking as if I was lying. I asked the reason for that and he replied that the another staff had his birthday too in that day. I was shocked for the second time of the co-incidence that was following me as if an angry bee. His name was Kunjan who is the senior creative designer and the owner of the company. Soon everybody knew about the wonderful incident happened there. Ranjan Ji soon planned to have lunch with all the staffs together. We Me, Kunjan, Ranjan, Pradeep, Raju and Suranjan had the lunch at nearby Kamaladi restaurant with great fun. When I returned home I bought some cakes from Thamel and had them with my family with the blowing of the candle and the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO U……" song.

Though some people say that celebrating the birthday like this is not our culture. It is imported from the west. I have seen whatever somebody thinks if you wish him in his birthday then he will be happy like he's got some special gift. It is not necessary to give expensive gifts and do wired things. The most important is to remember one's birthday. I have heard from my sister that the greatest gift you can give to other is the purity of attention. Likewise, there is no any gift special more than that. The very and the most special thing of anyone's birthday is its uniqueness. Though sometimes more than one people have birthday at the same day, most of the time it is unique. You feel very much extra and privileged at the moment and that feeling happens to be the happiest moment of your life.

It is the fact that many people celebrate their birthday with great expenditure and unnecessary things. We should discourage that in the sense that, in such type of birthday party there is more self enjoyment rather than the true feelings. If we could share the feeling more then the world will become friendlier. Let's start this attitude from ourselves first.

Riders of The Storm

Amid myriad imported cars, some step into a vehicle that charms numerous common men in the streets of Kathmandu. The famed Tuk Tuk which at an instant looks like a tin box is my guide towards a destination unknown to a fellow passenger riding along. There are hands waving out of nowhere and the journey is shared. It is a moment when men unacquainted to each other share a common destiny; one common space and the common road. Like the unexplained flow of a wild river and the brook that hits the rocks before the river engulfs it, we are meant to meet in the wild trying to escape from the chaos of a life left behind. I discover a certain charm in riding a Tuk Tuk. Something that bears a resemblance to an experience of thrill and amusement entwined in a perfect harmony.

At dusk when the smooth, crimson face of Kathmandu stretches to a facade of a dusty glum, a Tuk Tuk marches towards Lagankhel, which for a moment stands no less than the truth that only some crumpled notes that sum up to eight rupees occupy my pocket. It stands before me in a strange continuous fervor, like a wild river that cannot be tamed. There cannot be something more welcoming than a vigorous and sturdy eight feet body anticipating you to climb along. The offer is too good to resist.

The Tuk Tuk always carries different kinds of people. There is the meticulous, the hasty, the scowling, the chatty and each of them with a sense of mystery, with a past and the future. A strange understanding of unspoken words and indifferent faces connect all of them. It is a time when the din and clash of a usual Kathmandu no longer exists and men who speak aloud are silenced. Only the rattle of the Tuk Tuk reigns supreme.

At Maiti Ghar, where routes diverge, the eagle eyed driver yells to lure a possible passenger. For sometime we had ridden in silence save for the clatter of the tin and the engine no longer restrained by any silencer duct. But for the Tuk Tuk the silence is seldom incessant. You may only crowd in another one or two of them and move along.

The clash over the fare is only common. It is to be understood in the commonness of one man struggling against the vicious cycle of life and death. No, the problem is yet graver. It calls an answer to the question of one’s rights. The battle, sometimes won by the passenger leaves a mark on the driver. So he with his rumpled black hair and ingenuous brown eyes rides along. He looks like a teenager ostracized by his friends.

The Tuk Tuk always reminds us of an underlying power to realize that there is magic in being common. The Tuk Tuk ride tests it in more ways than we can elucidate, and in each curve and bend of the lonely road, a miracle gradually unveils before us. The miracle of feeling pride in being ordinary.

My Pen Art Sister

This is the rough pen art I have drawn months ago. This is sister studying in her very own table. I like art very much but I haven't seen it seriously. May be it is due time or other things that is blocking me. Though this art is very very much beginning of the long art journey I have been trying my best to do it. I haven't got any special training or kind of it from any artist. I use pen because I feel lazy to rub. This is the product of that. I have drawn so many with just pen but many of them lost. I think if I get time and money then I could be a very great artist. But this is just like day dream coz I have already into the computer world and there is no turning back. And the most difficult part of art is making face. I have tried so many times to draw some one's face it always ends up being a crazy looking some body's face who is never existed on earth. That is really funny.

The credit of the craze of this passion goes to Odette Ji and Francois Ji. When we lived at Jumla they have come there to do volunteer. They provided us with colors, papers and pencils. We with our friends used to draw there. Every children love to draw and we did. I think every parents should know this and should provide their children the pencil and papers. This way their creativity increases slowly and they become talented too.

There are some interesting stories about me and my art. I will slowly write them to this Blog site. I hope you keep on reading and commenting and I do my best to fulfill your queries.
